How To Get Things Done (in 1:07)
Chris Courts emailed me recently to show me to link to a video his company (Epipheo Studios) made on the topic of getting things done.
This is it – covers an impossible amount of information and concepts in just over a minute! Nice work.

How To Get Things Done – February 7th, 1 Day workshop in Dublin
Following on from the 1.5 hour session which we held in November I am really looking forward to delivering this one day workshop which explores the world of workflow and focus.
Time Management does not hack it
Not anymore – there is too much to do and too much coming at you. So we pull away from managing your hours (that’s a fixed number in a day) and move over to
a) coping with an information load by developing a workflow system to deal with it
b) using that gap to clearing your head and focusing on the stuff that actually matters
Mixing theory with some really practical work
Some of it is theory – taking the best of David Allens GTD system and throwing in more from Steven Covey, Peter Drucker, Mark Forster and Sally McGhee.
The work is done by you – which means you get to explore the beginnings of developing your own interpretation of the system which will work for you. That is the best and most practical part of the day and the part which every participant finds really useful.

Useful Goodreader tips in this blog post from Lifehack.org
Chris Smith shares how Goodreader (iPad only) helps him declutter, collaborate and hence become more productive
Extract:
Better (paperless) meetings and discussions.
One of my issues to resolve this year is to make my life more paperlessGoodReader helps with this.
Instead of printing out email and agendas for meetings I can create a PDF copy, upload it to Dropbox, email it to myself, or even sync it manually through iTunes. I can then open all documents that I need for the meeting or discussion and use GoodReader’s tabbed interface to view each document when I need it. And, of course, I can make a new annotated copy or annotate the document directly and sync it back Dropbox.
I can see this process is going to save paper (and headaches from missing notes) this year.
You can read the full post here. For me I am going to start exploring Dropbox integration after reading this.

Great blog post titles – How to Double Your Productivity in 30 minutes
Came across this on Twitter today – a blog post by Peter Shallard.
A series of actions to focus on within that 30 minute period – this is the 3rd one
3. Take a moment to think back to when you started this business. That blissful time when you used to procrastinate for hours at a time – when your business, though bursting with “potential”, existed only in your head…
Think about your vision back then. If you didn’t have a vision, think about your dreams. What did you absolutely lust over? What part of starting a business made you weak at the knees? What part lit a fire in your heart?
Most of all, ask yourself: What did I originally set out to create?
I liked it – realistically difficult to do in half an hour but the methodology is good.

Kicking off with a free productivity event
Coming up next Tuesday in Dublin is the ever popular “How To Be A Productivity Ninja”. This is the first of many gigs in Ireland which I will be doing with Think Productive – a leading personal and group productivity business based in Brighton (which also happens to be one of my favourite foodie towns in the UK).
Tuesday is a 2 hour session which kicks off at 8.30 in the Louis Fitzgerald Hotel on the Naas Rd.
You can get more information on the session here.
